Fall Semester Ends, Game On, Dirty Coast T-Shirts

Posted on: December 10th, 2007 / Gaming, General, Graphics

The fall semester has ended and it’s been a rough ride. I was done with everything Tuesday and it feels damn good. Alot of work was dumped on me this semester but I’m satisfied with what I was able to produce. Some pretty neat, some very half-assed. But hey, as long as you succeed right? I haven’t slept for over 4 hours each day except maybe Thursday since I don’t have classes Friday. I catch up on work Saturdays and Sundays. 4 hours of sleep is alot to me actually. I didn’t really sleep at all during finals. Anyway, I’ll upload some projects I did in my portfolio site. Hope you will enjoy them (and umm maybe refer me to some people in the field).

Regardless of how much work there was to be done, I still manage to find some time to waste away on video games. Now that I’m done with classes, I’ve been putting some time into the game I temporarily abandoned. If you’re on Phantasy Star Universe, look for me in an open game on the PC/PS2 servers.

I’ve been also been playing alot of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on XBL. Great game. End of story.

While you’re here, check out [Dirty Coast] for some really awesome New Orleans related T-Shirts. The graphics on these shirts are pretty neat. They’re different from similiar graphic T’s I’ve seen. Maybe because they’re all New Orleans themed. I don’t mind working for these people. Hey, they’re local so that’s a big plus. Kinda funny how I came across these guys. They sent me a friend request through MySpace. You can check out their MySpace page [here].

Download the album here. Very awesome site. The design of it is genius. Everything from the layout to the typography.

This album was released today and its available for free. It’s a pretty cool album. Even better if you like lofi or chiptunes. It’s a pretty unique type of music as they actually use an NES mixed with other instruments to produce all of their tracks. Even more unique is that there’s actual singing in these tracks as opposed to just sounds sequenced on an NES. If you’re open to music, give it a try. I personally recommend it.

An update: After like 25 listens through the entire album (literally), Digital Solace is my favorite track hands down. Butterfly Kisses comes at a close 2nd. The rest of the tracks are pretty enjoyable but those 2 tracks I mentioned are repeatedly on repeat.
I really dig their style and I first came across them after aquiring the [8BP050] album from the [8bitpeoples]. The track was called Kickle’s Processional (named after the NES game, Kickle Kubicle). Very awesome track. Here, they used an actual track from the game, layered it with guitars and stuff, and added their own vocals. How often can you take an instrumental song and add your own lyrics to it? Not too often right? Anyway, I totally look forward to their future works.
