Pedal Metal Carbon (Rock Band Bass Pedal Reinforcement) Review

Posted on: January 14th, 2008 / Gaming, Music

So we got Rock Band the day after Christmas knowing that there were already problems with the peripherals (e.g., the stock guitar (Stratocaster) has a faulty strum bar, problems with activating “overdrive”, drumpads wouldn’t register when you hit them, etc., etc.). I didn’t really care about the Stratocaster guitar since I already have two Guitar Hero guitars (which I like more than the Stratocaster). What I do care about is the drum kit. Overall, the build quality of the drum kit is pretty solid. The drum pads looks and feels like it can take a beating. Plus, you get real drum sticks by Ludwig. After doing some research, however, the bass pedal isn’t so fortunate. It seems that after a period of time, the pedal breaks in half. I’ve been careful with mines but the thought of the pedal breaking is always on my mind. This is probably the main reason that’s preventing me to do any kind of Rock Band party. You know there’s bound to be someone that’s gonna break something regardless of what you tell them. Add alcohol and there’s probably no doubt that something will break. After looking around the internet for some possible fixes, I found one that looks pretty decent. It was the Metal Pedal. In this case, it was the carbon fiber one since my pedal wasn’t broken (yet). It’s a bit more expensive than the metal one. Shipping was real fast and everything that you need was included (not that you needed anything else). Installation was real easy and quick.

Hoorahh! The Pedal Metal Carbon in the mail.

The bottom of the pedal.

Peel the backing off to reveal the adhesive…

Enough adhesive for your ass.

Directions: Place it on top of the Rock Band pedal after peeling the backing off the adhesive… That’s it!

Making sure it stays on there.

Looks good doesn’t it?

Worry free stomping: Confirmed.

The carbon fiber pedal itself is really solid. Doesn’t feel like it’ll break anytime soon. The adhesive is really good and it doesn’t shift around. It really stays put on top of the Rock Band pedal. Plus, it looks really awesome! If you’re interested, you can purchase the Pedal Metal & the Pedal Metal Carbon from rasehead on ebay. I totally recommend it. Too bad it doesn’t make me a better drum player on Rock Band.
