Updates (June 2008)

The past 2 months were pretty interesting. I decided to do some freelance work here in New Orleans so I went ahead and got my business license and formed (wait for it….), donkeybeatz. Not donkeybeatz studios, donkeybeatz inc., or donkeybeatz & co. or whatever. Just donkeybeatz. I figure its more of a mystery that way and makes people want to find out what it’s all about. But then at the same time they probably wouldn’t bother. So now I’m a registered business and its going fairly well. I didn’t expect the amount of work I have now but its pretty fun and rewarding. My clients thus far are really awesome. I guess its only a matter of time before I get the “bad” client. If you’re interested in getting some graphic design work done (ie. logos, business cards, whatever that requires any designing), you can contact me for a quote. Just keep in mind that the Fall semester is about to start so I won’t be able to take in as many clients.

Anyway, with that said, I was able to afford a Playstation 3. I didn’t plan on getting one before because it didn’t have any games that I wanted. Even if it did, it was also available for the XBOX 360. The price didn’t seem attractive either. And wow, its a lot more massive in size than the 360 (but also a lot more silent while in operation). So what prompted me to get the PS3? Metal Gear Solid 4. That and probably Blu-Ray since HD-DVD was out of the picture.

I’m a huge fan of the first Metal Gear Solid for the original Playstation and went on to play through MGS2 & MGS3 for the PS2. I also played the original Metal Gear for the NES back when I was a kid but I totally lost interest in it. Anyway, the game is great and wraps things up pretty good. I highly recommend it especially if you’re into the series. There’s really long cutscenes in the game but you can always opt to skip them if you want. There’s a lot of “WTF?” and “OHHHSHIIITT” moments in the game I can tell you that.

Oh right, if any of you guys are in the New Orleans area, I will be mixing it up with ChrisPC & DJ 1Point5 at Paradise Sports Bar this Friday in the west bank. Come out, have a drink or two, and enjoy the music. Free cover and starts at 9PM.
